Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Pullman Vision Source the leading provider of vision care products and services in Pullman.

Doctors

James DeVleming, OD

Dr. DeVleming was born and raised in Pullman Washington. He did his undergraduate schooling at the University of Washington and received his Doctorate of Optometry degree from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon in 1990. He and his wife Cathy then moved their young family back to Pullman to purchase his father’s Optometry practice in 1991.

Dr. DeVleming is a member of the American Optometric Association and is a current AOA Trustee. He is a past President of the Optometric Physicians of Washington and continues to be a member of the legislative committee for OPW. He is active in his community through the Pullman Chamber of Commerce and is the Vision Director for the Washington State University Athletic Department Medical Board.

He and his wife have three grown children, one son-in-law and four “grand-dogs”.

Jenna DeWald, OD

Dr. Jenna DeWald received her Bachelor of Science in Physics from Washington State University and then attended The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she received her Doctorate of Optometry, graduating with honors. Dr. DeWald completed clinical rotations at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio and at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. She practiced optometry for a year in Hamilton, Ohio before moving back to Washington to be closer to family.

Jenna enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband camping, fishing, and hiking around the beautiful Northwest.

Staff

Pullman Vision Source has a knowledgeable staff ready to assist each patient. With a dispensary of over 600 frames, it is easy to find the perfect frame you will enjoy wearing. If you are looking for contact lenses, we have the knowledge and skill to help just about anyone be a successful contact lens wearer.

Sarah

Sarah is our office manager and business director.  She has been with Pullman Vision Source for almost five years and keeps our practice running smoothly behind the scenes.  She always has a great book recommendation at the ready and enjoys spending time with her two rescue dogs and is a firm believer in pasta Sunday.

LaSharr

LaSharr shines at helping the patient select new frames and lenses.  She has great knowledge of lens design, lens features and oversees our large dispensary.  LaSharr grew up between the small town of Rochester and big city of Tacoma. She moved out to Pullman to attend Washington State University and decided she liked the middle ground of a slightly bigger town with a small-town feel and decided to stay in Pullman. She spends her free time either going back home to visit her family or hanging out with her two amazing cats Jasmine and Raja. If she’s not doing one of those two things you can normally find her reading or watching Disney movies or football. Her favorite place in the world is the ocean no matter the temperature of the water she will go right in.

Britne

Britne works in our optical department and will help you select the most appropriate eyewear for your visual needs. Britne has spent the majority of my life on the Palouse. She thinks laughter is the best medicine and always has a dad joke in her back pocket. When not at work she’s either spending time with friends, watching movies, or taking photos of the scenery this area has to offer.

Jon

Jon is our optical technician and does all the patient pre-testing. He recently relocated to the Palouse from Idaho. When not putting a smile on patient’s faces, Jon can be found spending time with his girlfriend and golden retriever puppy. Jon is also bilingual and happy to assist our Spanish speaking patients!

Melissa

Greeting you with a friendly smile as you come in the door is our receptionist, Melissa. She relocated from Seattle to the Palouse for peace and quiet, and never looked back! When she is not helping patients you will find her spending time with her family, out in the woods looking for geocaches, or tending to her bees.

Haley

Haley is attending Washington State University (GO COUGS!) and is majoring in biology. She hopes to become an Optometrist herself and loves learning from the doctors and staff here at Pullman Vision Source. She enjoys trying new foods, reading good books and spending as much time outdoors as possible with her family and friends.

Catherine

Catherine is our practice administer.  She oversees the optical buying in addition to handling our taxes, staffing, payroll, insurance credentialing, HIPAA compliance and all things financial. She is well versed in all things “insurance” and helps patients with tricky situations navigate their insurance issues.
